Circular Futures Collective Overview
Case Study: Liverpool Benefits Advice CIC
A Liverpool benefits advice CIC was running on a Facebook group, a USB spreadsheet, and a shared inbox — a system on the brink of collapse when Covid-19 struck. We delivered a six-month digital transformation: a new website, a HubSpot CRM adapted for casework, secure cloud tools, and hands-on training for all ten volunteers. The results: 77% less time per enquiry, 87% fewer data errors, and roughly £228,000 in annual social value created — a 25:1 return on investment. Zero missed tribunal deadlines since launch, and hundreds of vulnerable clients receiving faster, more reliable support.
Case Study: Liverpool Charity for Youth Employability
Liverpool-based charity supporting disadvantaged young people demonstrates the challenges and opportunities of digital and organisational transformation within a micro social impact organisation. Following a period of organisational inertia and reliance on COVID-related funding, a comprehensive review identified opportunities across governance, operations, finance, HR, digital systems and business development. The organisation began refocusing around a more person-centred model supporting disadvantaged young people, including digital inclusion and a new Futures programme. Positive feedback from funding applications indicated potential for the emerging model, although the charity ultimately closed in 2023. The experience highlights the importance of organisational readiness, sustainable income, effective governance and integrated digital transformation.
